Cast on 8 stitches. Work in stockinette stitch until piece measures 8 inches long. (ending on a purl row)

Bind off all stitches.

Fold and seam up sides LEAVING 1 1/2 INCHES FOR A FLAP!!

Sew on button, and you’re ready to rock out your tunes!!

  • Size 9 needles
  • Tapestry Needle

  • 2 inches = 7 st x 13 R using size 9 needles in garter stitch

Using size 9 needles, cast on 28 stitches.

Front Pocket:

Using Size 9 needles, cast on 15 stitches.

Row 1: Knit 5, Purl 5, Knit 5

Knit the knit stitches and purl the purl stitches for the next 6 rows. (7 rows total.)

Repeat these 7 rows 2 more times. (pocket will be 3 “blocks” high)

Row 22: *K1, P1* to end

Row 23: *P1, K1* to end

Bind off all stitches in rib.

Using size 8 needles, cast on 4 stitches and work in stockinette stitch for 30 inches, or length suitable (I made this for my 12 year old cousin, so it’s “short person” length :P).

Bind off all stitches.

Using a tapestry needle, seam up both sides of the bag.

Seam strap onto sides of bag.

Seam pocket onto front.

Weave in all ends.

You’re done!

If you make the bag, I’d love to see pics!!

*If there’s something unclear in my pattern, feel free to ask, and if you know how something could be worded better, don’t hesitate to comment! This and my camera cozy are my first patterns I’ve ever written down and published, so I’m not very good at it yet! 🙂

Free Pattern!!–Camera Cozy

Here’s my first “published” free pattern! Whoo hoo! It’s a simple one, but everyone’s got to start somewhere, right?

Camera Cozy Knitting Pattern

  • size 10 knitting needles
  • Yarn: Yarn Bee: Icelandic Jewels in color Rose Quartz (or other bulky weight yarn)

Gauge: 2 in. = 6 st x 10 R

Finished Measurements: 3 1/2 inches wide x 5 1/2 inches long (thought it is quite stretchy)

Cast on 11 stitches leaving a 6 1/2 inch tail.

Work in stockinette stitch until piece measures 10 1/2 inches, or desired length.

Bind off all stitches leaving a 6 1/2 inch tail.

Seam up sides (not using cast on/cast off tails).

Trim tails to exactly 6 1/2 inches if necessary.

Tie ends of cast on and cast off tails together for a cute little handle.

[You could also try an icord handle(cast on 3 stitches and work in icord until desired length, bind off and seam onto bag.) for a thicker handle, or you could also knit up a handle (cast on 2 or 3 stitches and work in garter or stockinette stitch until desired length. Bind off and seam to bag). Be creative!]

Embellish with buttons or other fun things! (I used a scrapbooking brad). Again, be creative!!

So during the summer we will have a lot more time to be posting and telling everyone what we are doing! Hopefully we’ll have a lot more time!

Hey! We’re rerab and rosy! we have another blog site, its rero.wordpress.com and, we made th is one too, because we knit, and have started a “club” of knitters around our area. We like knitting, and we just wanted to make a blog of what we are knitting and to post tips! Enjoy!
